Black People Will Swim’s sole mission is plain and simple: it’s smashing the stereotype that Black people don’t swim. They aim to do this through a number of ways with the use of the acronym F.A.C.E. (Fun, Awareness, Community & Education) - encouraging the Black community to FACE their fears. When Paulana, the CEO & Founder, reached out to me to do the company's logo and website, I was ecstatic to be apart of a project of this magnitude. Soon after I transitioned into the role of Creative Director.
The after launch reception to the website, overall branding and content has been incredible to say the least! Within 6 months after launch BPWS has been featured in Elle, Black Enterprise, AFROTECH and others. We've also been the grant recipients of the Adidas and iFundWomen campaign and have been featured in the Essence & Pine-Sol Build Your Legacy Competition.
